This high-purity epoxy solvent is ideal for cleaning brushes, rollers, and mixing tools, as well as thinning epoxy resins in specific applications. It also helps improve bonding by degreasing oily wood surfaces or prepping cured epoxy before recoating.

✔ What is Epoxy Solvent:

A professional-grade solvent compatible with most epoxy systems. Formulated to be highly effective without leaving residue or interfering with cure performance.

✔ What it’s is for:

  • Cleaning uncured epoxy from brushes, containers, and tools
  • Wiping down surfaces before epoxy application
  • Thinning epoxy for better flow or deeper penetration (in controlled ratios)
  • Degreasing oily or exotic hardwoods to improve adhesion
  • Prepping cured epoxy for recoating (light wipe + sanding)

✔ Why it works:

  • Evaporates cleanly — leaves no residue that can interfere with adhesion
  • Versatile use — from tool cleanup to surface prep
  • Safe for wood — doesn’t raise grain or cause swelling like water
  • Compatible with most epoxies — including penetrating sealers and fillers

✔ How to use:

  • For cleaning: Wipe tools immediately after use before epoxy cures.
  • For surface prep: Dampen a clean cloth and wipe the area; allow to dry fully.
  • For thinning: Use in small amounts and only as recommended by your epoxy product instructions.

Awesome product! I discovered it while working on my boats and use it alot in construction. I used it on a set of doors I built for my garden shed and they still look beautiful 3 years later. It’s pretty nasty stuff when using it so use it outside or a well ventilated area and use gloves and respirator.

Using this stuff years ago under the front deck…I believe I had a 60’s flashback…felt real good

Mahoganymadness

Fumes are nasty as it cures, so wear a respirator, not just a dust mask. Careful about getting it on your skin, it burns. I coated the bottom of my Lyman when restoring which was too big to flip, so I bought a cheap Harbor Freight full face mask. Worked great at protecting me from chemical burns and just throw it away when done.

Used and loved the stuff for years. Don’t forget the FILLIT stuff they sell…super for fill and repair. John in VA
